Teaching Philosophy
I strive to create a classroom environment of active learning, clear expectations, and creating something constructive with students, as well as creating a safe place for all students. Additionally, I hope that my commitment to diversity is shown in both the classroom and in the material that I teach. By teaching material from diverse authors and by being a woman of color myself, I hope to provide inspiration for students like me. Having my undergraduate experience at a small liberal arts college was transformative for me and fostered my love for both teaching and research. As a teacher, my goal is to inspire and mentor students and make them feel like they can continue in the fields they choose.
